Sharing your testimony

Sharing your testimony is a reminder to yourself of how far you have come. It is also a gift to others. We are created to tell our life stories, and to Share His story to the world.

This is the testimony story of Carol:

Everyone in life has some profound moments. Usually the birth of a child, moving to a new place, or getting married.

I have an Interior Design Degree and have worked with different designers after graduating from college. I also taught Montessori school for a few years. I have worked in retail sales where I spent the longest period of time in my career selling area rugs and carpeting. I was in my early 50’s and wanted a change. I wanted something different but, wasn’t sure what career path to take. I felt like I was trapped. I also couldn’t imagine going back to school and starting all over.

I had been praying for several years, asking for God’s guidance and strength to find something new. Also, for the courage to leave.

I kept being patient until I realized that God was waiting on me! My situation wasn’t going to change so I had to be the one to change. It was if God was telling me JUMP! I am here and I will catch you TRUST ME!

Then one day I realized that it would be okay if I took a break for a while from work. I thought if I am not working I will have more free time to actually look for a job. Most people would say that is not rational but crazy! Who leaves a job without finding one first! The job was starting to affect my physical health more. I discussed the situation with my parents who have always giving me good advice and support. I decided to leave and have faith that God would work everything out.

I was anxious to tell my bosses that I was leaving. I told them I had actually planned to go back and teach school. I wanted to work from home and teach some online classes. So, I thought but, God had other plans for me. For the next couple of months, I enjoyed the break. I was still struggling with the idea of going back to teach. I also started making crafts. One day I went to Michael’s craft store to pick up some supplies that I needed for my wreaths. I walked around the corner and ran into a very special lady that I knew. Her name is Denise and she would come into the rug store and drop off information about the fabric and floor caring company that they own.

We had known each other for several years. While we were catching up on how each of us were doing, something incredible happened! She told me that she noticed that I wasn’t working at the rug store anymore and wanted to know if I was looking for a job? I told her that I wasn’t but if I did, I would only want something part time. She replied that as a matter of fact we need someone part time in our Marketing Department. I asked her what did the job entail? Denise said to go and visit different businesses like she did and tell them about their cleaning company. She said you know a lot of designers and the importance of cleaning area rugs and carpet and how to talk to people! You would be perfect and we already know you! She also told me that I would have a company car to use to visit the clients. The whole situation seemed surreal and I heard everything she was saying but, I was trying to process it! I told her sure I would like to know more about the job. Denise gave me her business card and told me who to call at the office to set up an interview.

A couple of days later I got a call and was able to set up an interview. After my first interview went well, I got a second interview with Denise’s husband Howard. I knew Howard as well from him visiting the rug store in the past. He asked me a few questions and then offered me the position as a Marketing Representative.

I was absolutely thrilled but at the same time a little nervous! I had no Marketing experience but I was told that they would train me. This turned out to be one of the biggest blessings in my life! I am able to work for a Christian family-owned business. I not only have a job where I can make my own schedule for the routes and customers that I visit, I also give presentations and attend networking events!

The most incredible thing is working with all the wonderful employees that truly care about each other. They are like family and all help one another and look out for each other. I can’t imagine working anywhere else.

Sometimes when you think you have a plan for your life, let go and have faith and God may have something more wonderful planned than you could ever imagine!

We are called to Share His Story.  This is the mission behind Bradley Kellie Christian Storytelling Jewelry.  Many struggle with sharing their faith, and we provide a tool for you to feel more at ease when sharing His story to the world!
