Jesus loved us enough to die for us before we even loved Him enough to choose Him, in fact, some of the people He died for still chose not to love Him. It's heartbreaking to even think about that, but Jesus still did it because His love was unconditional. And if our hearts are supposed to be a reflection of His, it means our hearts have the ability to offer unconditional love too.

For the rejected or lost it would mean I love you enough to let God work through you, I trust that God will shine upon you for His glory. For anyone else, it would serve as a reminder that your heart is a reflection of God's and that His love can and will shine through you in every situation.
